PEZA Director General – Brigadier General Charito “Ching” Plaza reading to me my appointment letter stating my duties and responsibilities as the newly appointed SPECIAL ADVISOR TO THE DIRECTOR GENERAL FOR NORTH AMERICA AND ASEAN.
Thank you, Director General Ching Plaza, for the opportunity to serve our country and our fellow Filipinos.
I vow to discharge my duties as “Special Advisor to the Director General for North America and ASEAN” to the best of my abilities in line with (Philippine Economic Zone Authority) PEZA’s new thrusts of developing untapped investment markets such as the countries and companies in North America and ASEAN, among others, as well as to generate jobs for our fellow Filipinos at home and possibly bring home our OFWs together with their respective employers wherever possible.
In order to bring our office closer to the people, we enjoin each and every Filipino to take part and help us with our tasks in organizing and coordinating investment seminars, round table meetings, one-on-one business meetings and similar activities with potential investors who might be interested in PEZA either as developers of economic zones or as Export, Information Technology, Tourism, Agro-Industrial or Medical Tourism Enterprises.
With this, let me borrow the words of late US President JFK, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
